Amor Real - a journey of healing

Over the past 2 months, we watched our children step into leadership roles at school—with pride in their eyes and purpose in their hearts. Whether serving as School Police, Environmental Coordinators, Classroom Collaborators, or playing in the school band, these young leaders are blossoming before our eyes.

Gael’s Story:

Among them is Gael, a brave 9-year-old boy whose journey has been nothing short of miraculous. Once struggling with behavioral challenges and a difficult ADHD diagnosis, Gael was often in trouble at school. But today, he’s a different child—focused, respectful, and full of life. He recently said, “I’m no longer drawn to the ‘Miss in the classroom,’” a simple but powerful reflection of his transformation.

Gael’s health has also improved in ways we can only describe as divine. His medication dosage has been reduced, and his vision—once a major concern—has shown remarkable improvement. We see the hand of God in every step of his progress.

Elizabeth’s Story:

When Elizabeth arrived at Casa Pat, she was overwhelmed by emotional struggles—frequent tears, sleepless nights, and difficulty connecting with her children. But thanks to your generous support, she found a safe, nurturing environment where healing could begin.

As she placed her trust in God, Elizabeth began to reclaim her confidence. She started making empowered decisions for herself and her children, no longer seeking approval from others. Today, she walks in strength and assurance, grounded in her identity as a child of God. Even on difficult days, she knows she is not alone.

But none of this happens in isolation. It happens because of people like you. People with hearts big enough to care, to give, and to believe in the potential of every mother and child. At Casa Pat, families like Elizabeth and Gael find more than just support—they find safety, dignity, and the love of a community that refuses to give up on them.

We invite you to be part of this story. Your donation isn’t just a gift—it’s a lifeline. It’s the reason a child like Gael can dream, grow, and thrive. Please consider giving today. Together, we can continue to be the hands and feet of hope for these precious families.

April and May have brought a renewed sense of joy and hope to our families. As many of you know, we’ve been hard at work transforming Pat’s Place from the ground up. Back in March, Alex Compton and Tim Koenning led a dedicated team to Peru to begin a full renovation of the house—tackling everything from windows and painting to kitchen demolition and electrical work.

The progress has been steady, and we’re pushing forward with updates as quickly as we can. It’s been two months since we first shared a glimpse of the demo phase, and now, we’re thrilled to unveil one of the most exciting milestones yet: the brand-new kitchen!
