For a woman leaving abuse, safety is only the beginning. She and her children need a place where they are welcomed, cared for, and given room to imagine a different tomorrow.
Pat’s Place is Amor Real’s Christian refuge for women and children recovering from abuse, including survivors of trafficking.
The home’s location remains private to protect the families who live there.

Since opening in 2006, Pat’s Place has welcomed women and their children into a home of refuge and care. Amor Real Ministries owns and operates Pat’s Place.
Healing takes time, compassionate support, and opportunities to begin again. The recovery program typically lasts 2 to 3 years. Women can receive:
- Christian counseling
- Life coaching
- Psychological support
- Education
- Trade training
- Work experience
These opportunities help women rebuild confidence, develop practical skills, and prepare to support their families.

Pat’s Place began with a dream of refuge. That vision lives on through those who give their time, care, and faith to the families who call it home.
Pat Wautlet
Pat’s Place honors Patricia Wautlet, whose calling brought her alongside Peruvian women facing abusive and dangerous relationships. She dreamed of a home where women and their children could find safety and the love of Christ.
Pat passed away before the home opened. Today, her vision continues through every family welcomed here.
Laura Ali
Laura, director of Pat’s Place, brings years of service and a background in psychology to her care for the home’s families. She also serves as home coordinator and mission team chef.
A mother and grandmother with deep roots in the local community, she helps carry the daily work of welcome, support, and care.
Alex & Holly Compton
Alex and Holly established Amor Real Ministries in 2016 to continue supporting Pat’s Place and serving families in Peru.
Alongside churches, organizations, teams, and individual supporters, they help sustain this place of refuge and opportunity.
